Professional Background:

Glenn Saunders is a Research Engineer with the Center for Automation Technologies and Systems (CATS) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he is responsible for conducting and managing research and development projects, providing technical guidance and oversight to multidisciplinary undergraduate teams involved with industry sponsored engineering projects and participating in new business development including proposal writing. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer in 1982 and an M.Eng. from Rensselaer in 1985. He has fifteen years of experience in small businesses involved in the design and deployment of machine tools, automation systems, robot systems and manufacturing systems with an emphasis on detailed mechanical design and project management. He has been with the CATS for eight years and is President of the Upstate New York Laboratory Robotics Interest Group.
